The Aspire UI Framework implements its own TAB key navigation system, overriding the native behavior of the Flash Player. This implementation is based on the opinion that a logical tab focus order should flow in the same way the UI controls are added to the container, which normally coincides with the way they are laid out, normally from left-to-right, top-to-bottom.

In Flash, when a focusable control receives focus, a rectangle is drawn around it to indicate that it is currently active/selected. The default focus rectangle drawn by the Flash Player is an ugly yellow border. Components typically override this behavior and draw their own (hopefully nicer) focus rectangles.
